Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here…
My name’s Michaela, I’m here to assist women stepping up and into our full power in life. Our leadership as women is desperately needed in the world now more than ever, and we can only show up for our purpose when we show up for our own health and bodies first.
As a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Ayurvedic Chef, Yoga Instructor & Yoga Teacher Trainer, I am devoted to the deep inner work of natural healing from the inside out. My practice emphasizes how to harness the wisdom of the body to heal itself naturally, identifying the deeper root cause of physical symptoms for long-term health, longevity and ease in our bodies.
Our work infuses holistic modalities I’ve learned through years of experiential practice and study, rooted in the wisdom of feminine embodiment and coming home to our selves. Each of us holds the keys to our unique power, purpose and health from within—the challenges we face through our life experience teach us how to find them and walk with the ignited soul fire we are.
The healing path is not always an easy one—my healing journey started from a decade long struggle with challenged eating, and a range of other inexplicable physical and mental health symptoms.
When I sought out doctors for help with my physical symptoms, they told me they were inherited, inexplicable or unsolvable, at fault of my body. I was told the only way would be to manage my symptoms through synthetic medication, at best. I became inspired to seek answers beyond the surface level, pursuing natural healing education.
My quest to solve my own health challenges blossomed into a passion for supporting others, that each of us may step fully into our unique embodying & the power that we are.
Background and Training
Along with my studies in Yoga and Ayurveda, I hold a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara in Global Studies, where I immersed in Human Rights, Environmental and Social Justice, and Transnational Trade Policy. I worked as a Policy Advocate in the non-profit sector and different tech and marketing jobs, while nourishing my passion for holistic self-healing along the way.
I began a meditation practice in 2012 which led me to the teachings of yoga. I dove into study and practice at the Mount Madonna Institute in the lineage of Baba Hari Dass, which is my foundation for Classical Raja Yoga. This approach holds yoga both as a daily practice and way of life. My teaching style weaves personalized breathwork, meditation, movement, and Ayurveda into daily life, along with embodying personal values, philosophy, and internal spiritual connection as a way of life. I continue to practice and teach at Mount Madonna, where I am a student for life.
Yoga introduced me to Ayurveda, herbalism, mindful eating and using food as medicine. I studied with Myra Lewin of Hale Pule, where I trained and became certified as an Ayurvedic Chef and Ayurvedic Health Counselor over the course of three years.
Along the way I completed and helped manage Silent Vipassana Meditation retreats, worked and studied with medicinal herbalists, and completed courses dedicated to womb health and women’s cycle wisdom. I supported a Functional Nutritionist’s practice to help women balance their hormones and heal PCOS naturally, and held retreat containers teaching yoga and surfing.
I am deeply grateful for this life experience and the privilege to do this work. I am always learning and growing and seek to continually expand my practice and knowledge base, to be of best service to our collective healing.
